It has been ten years, this Thursday, since our RFI colleagues Ghislaine Dupont and Claude Verlon were assassinated in Kidal, in northern Mali. They were reporting when a commando from al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb kidnapped them before executing them, less than an hour later, at the gates of the city. Ten years after the events, the judicial investigation is still ongoing in France. The investigating judge in charge of the case received the civil parties on October 25 to take stock of the procedure. Progress has been made, certainties gained, but gray areas remain.
