ASPI Free to X and SEA bring the first Superfast

The construction of the Free to X charging station follows the award of a tender announced by SEA for the construction of 4 Superfast Charging Station and sees Free To X as Charge Point Operator of the stations and Atlasa company of the NHOA Group, in the role of partner for the creation and management of the services of energy management. Activation takes place after that of first fast multistandard column in the Arrivals areaactive for a few weeks already.

At the airport of Malpensa instead they will be installed 4 columns, 3 of which ultrafast, capable of loading 7 vehicles in parallel. The project started today also includes 2 additional columnsone of which is superfast (up to 150kW), capable of charging 4 electric cars at a timeinstalled in the areas outside the Terminals dedicated to private aviation.

“The European Union is embracing sustainable mobility and politics must support this change, especially from a social point of view”. said the Minister Giovannini in video link, recalling that “our country is behind in the transition and the Draghi government has tried to fill the gap with the PNRR”. Giovannini underlined that in the future of mobility there is not only the electric one and “in the PNRR important investments are foreseen also for hydrogen”, while “the research on bio fuels is proceeding”.

“Today’s inauguration represents a very important moment. ASPI is involved in the project through Free to X, a technological startup created to act as an engine of innovation and transfer within the Group everything needed for innovative and sustainable mobility” , has explained Elisabetta Oliveri, President of Autostrade per l’Italia, recalling that 100 charging areas are expected to be installed on the motorway network by 2023 and that ASPI’s task is to ensure that these areas are at a distance of 50 km on the motorway network . At the same time, however, ASPI “participates in the global challenge of reducing polluting emissions even outside the motorway, making its experience in the path of profound transformation of transport available to other mobility players with a view to sustainability”.

Giorgio Moroni, CEO of Free to X recalled that the company “has started the construction of one of the largest high-power charging networks for electric vehicles in Italy, starting from the motorway area where the installation of a 300kW hypercharger is underway on 100 service areas, from north to south, with an interdistance of 50 km “. The manager stressed that the new charging station can be considered a “point of reference that demonstrates how the electric charging station is very similar to a traditional service station, with a shelter and a charging speed that is competitive with respect to the ‘traditional car “.
