(Tiper Stock Exchange) – Highways for Italy (ASPI) closed 2022 with operating revenue equal to 4,175 million euros, an increase of 303 million euros compared to 2021, thanks also to the recovery of traffic on the network. L’EBITDA amounted to 2,459 million euros, up by 334 million euros on 2021, while the profit for the year pertaining to the group amounted to 1,130 million euros, with an increase of 407 million euros compared to 2021.
In 2022 the network traffic of the group grew by a total of 9.3% compared to 2021, a year which was however affected by the effects of the travel restrictions imposed by government authorities, and is still 2% lower than in the last pre-pandemic year of 2019).
From the beginning of the year to March 26 of 2023 traffic on the Autostrade per l’Italia network recorded growth of 7.7% compared to the same period of 2022 (-0.3% vs 2019). ASPI estimates that traffic may register a limited increase in the whole year, compared to 2022, and, overall, substantially in line with 2019 levels.
As of 31 December 2022 theNet financial debt it amounts to 8,117 million euros, a decrease of 129 million euros compared to 31 December 2021 (8,246 million euros).
The BoD called the shareholders’ meeting on 20 April 2023, proposing to allocate the result for the year 2022 to: distribution of profits for a total of €924 million, made up of approximately €824 million relating to the profits of the Autostrade per l’Italia concessionaire, equal to a payout of approximately 75% of the ordinary operating profit, and approximately €100 million mainly relating to the portion of the profit deriving from the collection of the extraordinary dividend distributed in December 2022 by Southern Highways as well as the dividends received from other investee companies; profits carried forward for the remaining portion equal to 274 million euro.
