Asmongold Compares Final Fantasy XIV vs WoW Twitch Streamers: “Hairy Middle-Aged Men”

Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

Amongold, whose real name is Zack, is arguably the biggest MMORPG streamer on Twitch. Now he compared streamers to Lost Ark, Final Fantasy XIV and WoW and came to a sobering conclusion.

How does Asmongold relate to the games? Asmongold grew up with WoW, and he has a kind of love-hate relationship with Blizzard’s MMORPG. Hardly anyone complains so much about WoW, but he is at the start of every new expansion.

However, the streamer has also had difficult phases privately, temporarily withdrawing from Twitch and WoW. In the meantime he seemed to have more fun with Lost Ark and Final Fantasy XIV, but these MMORPGs were probably too exhausting for him.

So Asmongold is quite familiar with all 3 MMORPGs. Now he didn’t compare the games themselves, but their twitch streamers – and he seems to miss one thing in WoW: cute anime girls!

Asmongold on the “Final Fantasy” experience

How did the comparison come about? The streamer was watching reactions from Final Fantasy players to the new raid featuring the goddess Nophica, which fans were particularly excited about. He said it was probably based on the gacha game Genshin Impact: “Just bring a hot anime girl into your game and all your problems will be solved.”

Among the reactions was a vtuber. Their comment that Nophica could “put her milk right in [ihren] Promote mouth” caused a stir in Asmongold’s chat.

However, Asmongold opined: “This is a vtuber, they are… different. So it makes sense that she would say that.”

Vtuber are YouTubers and streamers who do not appear in front of the camera themselves, but are represented by a 2- or 3-dimensional avatar. Their facial expressions and gestures are transferred to the model. Avatars in the form of cute anime girls are particularly popular.

What did Asmongold discover? The streamer then wanted to share a special insight with his chat. On Twitch, he called up the Lost Ark, Final Fantasy, and WoW categories.

He immediately noticed that Lost Ark was full of vtubers. An exact count was difficult for him because the classification was obviously not very clear:

It’s half-half, the little thing’s mouth is moving […] and that’s just a cat. But it is a Vtuber cat.

When Asmongold included the vtubers in Final Fantasy, the picture became even clearer: “There’s one, two, three already! We have 3 in the top 7!” According to Asmongold, this is the “Final Fantasy” experience.

In WoW, however, things are very different. We have included the corresponding clip for you here:

WoW seems to be a man thing on Twitch

How about WoW? Unlike Lost Ark and Final Fantasy, the WoW Twitch category is dominated by a completely different group of people: “hairy middle-aged men.”

Asmongold comments on the streamers that appear at the top of the category and always comes back to the same conclusion: bearded guys. “Number 4? Guess a hairy middle-aged man. Oh, we have more… middle-aged hairy men,” says Asmongold, finishing his enumeration.

However, one thing is completely missing from WoW: the anime girls.

There are no VTubers in World of Warcraft. None! The closest thing to a VTuber is Yumy, a cat with a waffle on his head.

His viewers can’t help but notice that Asmongold seems to be a little jealous. Already hoping someone will create a VTuber model for the streamer and awaiting the debut of “Asmon-chan”.

That makes sense, because Asmongold had already raved about how easy vtubers had it in the past:
