Australian tennis star number one on the world rankings for women Ashleigh Barty unexpectedly announced that he was leaving the playing field. Barty said he will retire early at just 25 years old.

In the video, the Australian star says she is grateful for everything the species has given her. However, he says he knows now is the time to step aside, lower the rackets and chase other dreams.

Barty has been at the top of the world list for over two years and is leaving the sport after winning three singles Grand Slam championships. He won the Australian Open in January in front of his home crowd, in 2021 he celebrated at Wimbledon and in 2019 he celebrated at the French Open.

– The success for me is that I know I have given my all. I’m happy, happy, and I know how much work it takes to get the most out of myself, Barty said on Instagram.

– I am totally a receipt and physically I have nothing more to give, Australian sum.

Leaving tennis behind isn’t entirely new to Barty, as in 2014 he took a break from tennis while playing cricket in the Australian Big Bash League. Known for his multi-talent, Barty has also been successful in golf. Last year, he won the club championship.

– I know not everyone will understand my decision. I have a lot of dreams I want to pursue.

The decision came as a surprise to the tennis world

Romanian star Simona Halepille Barty’s announcement came from behind the tree, but at the same time he says he’s happy for his friend.

– What can I say, you know I was in tears. I will have a sad friend on tour. You are different and special. We shared special moments. What is your next goal? Is that a win in a golf major tournament? Be happy and enjoy life to the fullest, Halep wrote on Twitter.

Czech Petra Kvitova said he could not find the words when he heard about the decision.

– You showed you have style when you finished tennis in such a beautiful way. I’m really happy to be playing with you. Tennis will never be the same without you, Kvitova said.

American Madison Keys congratulated the Australian on a wonderful career. He summed up how much appreciation Barty enjoyed among the other players.

– You are an amazing tennis player, but most of all you were one of the nicest people on the tour.

British three-time Grand Slam winner Andy Murray was happy on behalf of Barty, but noted that the decision is a setback for tennis.

American Andy Roddickin the reaction was surprised when he tweeted the word wow.

In Australia, Barty has become a national hero with his achievements. In January, she became the first Australian women’s winner of the Australian Open since 1978.

Following the decision to terminate, the Prime Minister of Australia Scott Morrison praised the tennis star via Twitter, among other things.

– It was great talking to you and most of all thanking you. You inspire the whole nation. Your achievements will never be forgotten. On behalf of all Australians, I wish you and your spouse all the best, Morrison wrote.
