As part of the fifth day of the group stage of the CAF Champions League, FAR Rabat regained control of Group B with a 2-0 home victory against AS Maniema. A success which gives the Moroccans three points ahead of Mamelodi Sundowns, runner-up in group B, who fell on the pitch of Raja Casablanca (1-0), the fault of a goal from Benaissa Benamar. Earlier in the day, TP Mazembe continued its poor run in the competition, with a new defeat against Young Africans (3-1) despite opening the score after a quarter of an hour of play. The Lumbashi club is good last in group A, while the Young Africans are back in the race for second qualifying place for the quarter-finals. Finally, Orlando crushed Stade d’Abidjan (3-0) at home and thus remains in control of group C.
