As promised, Google Messages has just deployed dynamic reactions in its stable version. To take advantage of it, you must install the latest update. Enough to make exchanges more friendly and more lively!
Installed as standard on most Android smartphones, Google Messages has attracted many people, to the point of having more than a billion monthly active users. For this, the SMS, MMS and RCS application was largely inspired by other popular instant messaging services, such as WhatsApp or Signal. Obviously, this involves the famous emojis! Indeed, Google seeks to enrich reactions to messages. Also, after a beta phase, a new function is now available on the stable version of the application. Announced at the end of last year, it will trigger a small animation when you react to a message using one of the ten most popular emojis, which you will find below.
Google Messages emojis: more dynamic communication
Imagine: your friend texts you to let you know that you both have reserved a table at that trendy new restaurant everyone is talking about. If you react to the message with a simple thumbs-up emoji, the magic happens instantly: a trio of animated thumbs dance around the message bubble. A way to bring a touch of dynamism to your discussions! Note that these effects are obviously only displayed for other Google Messages users, and not for those using iOS. Afterwards, some may regret that these reactions are activated automatically. If you don’t yet have access to the function, remember to check the application updates on the Play Store.
This isn’t the only recent new feature in Messages. Before the arrival of dynamic reactions, the application had already implemented secret animations, which are activated when you use in one of the phrases, like “I love you” or “it’s snowing”. What’s more, it is now possible to generate emojis with your photos – “Photomoji”. In addition, according to the analysis of the code injected into the body of the application, we should soon be able to change the colors of RCS conversations to personalize the bubbles and the background of the discussions. This is currently an experimental function which will soon arrive on the stable version of messaging. In addition, Google Messages will make it possible to react more quickly and easily to received messages. Instead of a long press on a text, just double tap to display emojis (see our article). And without a doubt, Google will continue to improve its messaging app in the weeks and months to come.
