On December 17, 2024, episodes 9 to 15 of the animated anthology series Secret Level were released on Amazon Prime Video. One of the highlights is the episode about the online shooter Concord.
What is Secret Level? This is a series of unrelated, animated video game shorts produced by director Tim Miller (Deadpool) for Amazon Prime Video. With Love, Death & Robots, the creative mind had already created a comparable series for Netflix in a fantastic manner.
On December 10, 2024, nine episodes had already gone live, with some highlights such as the appearance of Keanu Reeves as a pilot in Armored Core: Resource Management, the wonderfully silly episode of New World: King Forever, the epically staged Dungeons & Dragons: The Cradle the Queen or the wonderfully brutal sequel to Warhammer 40K: Know No Fear.
A week later, on December 17, 2024, the rest of season 1 followed, with The Outer Worlds, Mega Man, Spelunky and Honor of Kings. A surprising highlight of the second half of the season, however, is the short film about the online shooter Concord.

There are also sometimes bizarre, sometimes silly situations. The usual high-quality animated visuals of the anthology series. The 15 minutes passed far too quickly.
A few months ago, this would have been the perfect starting point to praise the shooter of the same name and its heroes, to give the universe a profile and to get genre fans excited about the online shooting. However, it is too late for that now. Concord has been offline for a long time. The responsible studio closed.
Maybe it’s a good thing. Ultimately, the short film would have built up expectations in terms of story and characters that the shooter in its final form would never have been able to fulfill. The focus was too much on the games-as-a-service foundation for that. Here are the most important things about the quick end of the multiplayer shooter:
Meanwhile, Concord game director Ryan Ellis had also stepped down from his position to move into a supporting role. For long-time players, an old friend is saying goodbye, because Ellis was the creative boss of the best DLC in Destiny, and now he is the face of Sony’s flop on PS5 and Steam
