In the Olympic village, Finland’s accommodation has never cheered for Cuba as hard as tonight. Arvi Savolainen’s lifeline is in the hands of Gabriel Rosillo.

Arvi Savolainen the Olympic pressure was not rosy after the Czech Republic was chosen to represent the tournament Arthur Omarov’s Achilles tendon ruptured during the Games. It meant that Savolainen’s Olympic ranking rose from 6th place to 5th place – and an ice-cold first block in the competition chart.
The place in the final required the reigning world champion after an easy victory in the tie-breaker in the new group Gabriel Rosillo and the 97-kilogram great legend Arthur AleksanyanOlympic champion and four-time world champion caning.
From the original group, the route to the medal matches would have been somewhat smoother.
An expert not an optimist
The loss against Rosillo at numbers 2-5 means that Savolainen’s tournament will only continue if the Cuban also beats Armenia’s Aleksanyan, which Urheilu’s expert Jarkko Area–Huikku thought very unlikely before the tournament.
– If it was successful last fall, why wouldn’t it be successful now? But it’s hard to say when it’s not in your own hands, Savolainen commented on his chances to continue towards the bronze medal through Wednesday’s collection matches.
Last fall, the Greco-Roman style world championships were fought in Belgrade, and Aleksanyan’s final loss to Rosillo, who rarely competes outside of Cuba, was the bombshell of the event.
Savolainen already rated these two wrestlers as the favorites of their series in an interview conducted by Urheilu before the Olympic trip.
“Able to win”
– Rosillo will definitely be able to win that match, it will be all-round, says the national team coach Marko Yli-Hannuksela Twisting starting around 20:25 Finnish time, when Rosillo meets Aleksanyan in the semi-final.
On the other side of the chart, the Semites wrestled Egypt Mohammed Gabr and Iran Mohammad Hari Saravito whom Savolainen lost the bronze medal match at the Tokyo Games 2021. The losers will certainly be in the bronze medal matches.
Armenian Malkhas Amoyan took the 77-kilogram opening round Jonni From Sarkis overwhelming points win. Sarkkinen’s possible access to the collection matches will also be confirmed on Tuesday evening.
Savolainen still beat Rosillo at the Olympic Games in Tokyo, but since then the 25-year-old man from the sugar island has moved forward drastically. For his World Championship gold in Belgrade, he was awarded the Breakthrough Award of United World Wrestling.
Savolainen’s turning point came in the opening period, when the Finn, who had taken a quick opening point, made a bold throw attempt, from which the Cuban converted two points for himself.
– I was so stupid that I set out to do a business that the guy could read. I guess it depends on the training sessions.
