Arttu Hyry got the goal taps open in North America

Dallas beat Minnesota in the training match with 4–2 goals.

Broke into Leijon last season Arttu Hyry got a taste of the goal with North American professionals, as the hockey NHL prepares for the season that starts at the end of the week. Hyry dominated the Dallas Stars’ opening goal in a practice match against the Minnesota Wild.

Hyry guided the puck into the goal Kyle Capobianco from the shot and took his team to a 1–0 lead. Dallas won the match 4–2. Hyry was the only Finn in Dallas’ lineup, as the club rested Miro Heiska, Esa Lindelli and Roope Hintz, among others.

Hyry, 23, who moved from Kärpi to North America, scored two goals for Leijon at last spring’s World Cup in Prague. Hyry is expected to start the season with the AHL club Texas Stars.

Colorado Avalanche goaltender Justus Annunen allowed five pucks behind his back, when the new NHL club Utah Hockey Club defeated the Colorado Avalanche 6–3. Utah increases the number of teams in the NHL to 32.
