For the occasion, the national body dedicated to Boccaccio, which is based in Certaldo in the poet’s birthplace, is preparing a series of initiatives that go in the direction of digitization of cultural heritage of this father of the Italian language.

Enhancing the immense cultural heritage of Certaldo also means enhance tourism promotion and hospitality: from 2 March to 12 May the town in the province of Florence will change its face also thanks to a very particular showwhich combines the artistic heritage with new possibilities offered by technologies in the field of art, to show the village in a new guise.

Arrives in Certaldo with its stars Vincenzo Marseillethe artist who has already raised the name of Italian art by inaugurating the‘Art Faire of Paris: his “Stars and stones” it will be an exhibition spread across the most characteristic places of the village, which will develop between the suggestive Palazzo Pretorio and the Casa del Boccaccio.

The. is also dedicated to the works of Boccaccio stage of “Map (star) the World”which stops in Certaldo to map and cover some of the village’s artistic treasures with virtual starry patterns, including the pages of the original copy of the “Decameron” preserved in the poet’s birthplace.

“My intent – explains the artist – is to relate hyper technology with our history, therefore with our past, precisely to give it a new life and make it look at, appreciate, with different eyes. The medieval streets of Certaldo will then light up two neon worksone in the loggia below Boccaccio’s house and one on Praetorian Palace: a diagonal that will accompany the visitor to discover the work of Marseille, who then prepared a series of site-specific works inside the Palace, holograms and digital projections in dialogue with the frescoes by Pier Francesco Fiorentino from the end of the 15th century, works in black Belgian marble, alabaster, large fabric stars, neon and works on paper.
