In November 2023, Brave Software introduced an AI assistant called Leo in the Brave web browser for desktops. The company is now rolling out Leo to the Brave web browser for Android. Brave Leo can perform many tasks, including answering your questions, summarizing web pages and videos, translating pages, creating long-form written content, creating transcriptions of audio and video content, and even writing code, all of which can be very useful for most people. It saves them a lot of time in daily life and provides them with great convenience when performing these tasks.
Brave releases AI assistant Leo on Android
Leo uses the Mixtral 8x7B large language model (LLM) by default. However, if you want, it also allows you to choose Calude Instant and Llama 2 13B. But using Mixtral allows you to use the AI assistant in other languages, including English, French, German, Italian, and Spanish. What’s even more impressive is that you can use Leo with or without logging in, and it doesn’t record chats either.
Fortunately, you can access Leo for free. But Brave Software also offers Leo Premium, a paid version of the service that costs $14.99 per month and offers higher rate limits. Leo began a phased release with version 1.63 of the Brave web browser, according to the company.
