14:23 – Still 15,800 amendments to study
The parliamentary work which opens this week promises to be colossal and it appears as mission impossible that it can be completed. 15,800 amendments must still be discussed at the Bourbon Palace by Friday evening, before the text goes to the Senate. During the first week, just over 4,600 amendments were put to the vote. What slow the progress of the study of the text, which criticizes the government.
14:10 – Which articles have already been adopted?
Since last Monday and the beginning of the debates, two articles have been adopted. These are the introductory article, the one that gives the main lines of the bill and the quantified explanations, as well as the first article, which provides for the abolition of the special pension schemes for the electricity and gas industries (IEG), the Autonomous Paris Transport Authority (RATP), notary clerks and employees (CRPCEN), the Banque de France, and members of the Economic, Social and Environmental Council (CESE) for agents who will be recruited from the 1st September 2023.
14:05 – Pension reform in the Assembly, day 6!
The pension reform bill is back in the National Assembly this Monday, February 13, 2023, a week after the opening of the debates. In an electric climate and after four sessions marred by many tensions, parliamentarians must continue to work on the thousands of amendments still to be studied.
