Arthur Dreyfus, a new novel which takes its destiny into its own hands

Arthur Dreyfus a new novel which takes its destiny into

His last novel was entitled “Sexual Diary of a Boy Today”, and it is with another diary that Arthur Dreyfus returns today. A diary that dabbles in storytelling in a style on the border between fantasy and realism. A surprising story that takes us to the four corners of Europe in the footsteps of a hero who had a third hand grafted onto his stomach. A difference that will turn his life upside down.

It’s a story-like novel, a little fantastical, but in a rather realistic style. A gripping story, rich in adventures, full of humor and irony, which surprises, shakes up, destabilizes and captivates over nearly 500 pages. With a narrator who wears a whole series of different costumes: child, prisoner of war, worker in a bolt factory, magician at the Jardin des Plantes and in a Parisian cabaret, lover, libertine, but also a monster.

A different being, because he does not have two, but three hands. A third hand grafted onto her stomach, which will change everything in her life, especially since she knows how to write, hit, grope, in short respond autonomously to her desires and impulses.

In his new novel, Arthur Dreyfus has fun and amuses us. A real pleasure to read, this story of a monster which speaks of humanity. “ The Third Hand » was published by POL editions.

Rebroadcast of the show from Thursday September 14, 2023.
