Ruud won the first set in a tiebreak against Bublik in the round of 16 of the ATP tournament in Basel.
The first ball of the second set set the tone for the rest of the match. Ruud decided with a stroke and then went on to win the second set with 6–2, which then gave advancement in the tournament (7-6, 6-2).
World number eight Ruud meets Dominic Stricker in the next round, the match will be played on Thursday.
