Arsonists cause $10,000 damage to residence

A Windham area home was targeted by arsonists twice over a two-day period.

Both incidents occurred in the early morning hours when residents were in the home.

On Monday at just before 2:30 am unknown suspects intentionally set the side of the home on fire, Norfolk OPP said in a media release.

The house was also targeted a day earlier. At about 1 am on Sunday, someone attempted to set the side of the residence on fire, police said.

About $10,000 in damage was caused to the structure.

The Norfolk OPP Crime Unit and OPP Forensic Identification Services are continuing to investigate in conjunction with the Ontario Fire Marshal’s office.

Police are asking anyone with surveillance systems to check their footage for suspicious people or vehicles in the area at the time of the incidents.
