It was around 11.40pm on Tuesday evening that the police stopped a motorcycle driver in the Råbergstorp district in Eskilstuna.
– The driver showed signs of being under the influence of drugs and was taken for sampling. When a person is suspected of being under the influence of drugs, we can justify that a house search is carried out to search for drugs – and that’s what happened in this case, says police spokesperson Åsa Willsund.
In connection with the search for drugs in the man’s home, another find was made: a suspected firearm.
– Before the weapon has been test fired under controlled conditions, we cannot say whether it is a replica, some type of soft air gun or a sharp weapon. But we suspect that it is sharp, says Åsa Willsund.
According to her, the man was arrested by prosecutors during the night of Wednesday and is now suspected of drunken driving under the influence of drugs, minor drug offences, illegal driving and serious weapons offences.
The police do not want to state where in Eskilstuna the house search was carried out or exactly how old the suspect is.
