The young woman who was subjected to what is classified as aggravated rape was not previously familiar with the perpetrator but was able to identify him afterwards, writes Helsingborgs Dagblad (HD).
The assault happened in a green area on Tuesday afternoon, and the suspect, who is in his 30s, was arrested overnight on Wednesday.
“I think we have a pretty good picture of the course of events,” says prosecutor Linda Seger, who leads the preliminary investigation, to the newspaper.
The young woman is said not to have suffered any serious physical injuries from the abuse.

Seger states that the investigation is still at an early stage and that the questioning continues with both the plaintiff and the suspect.
