The Tidö parties want a cap on the size of children’s groups
The government and SD want stricter rules for how large groups of children can be in preschool, as well as how high the staffing density should be. An investigation will look more closely at this, as well as how a compulsory language preschool should be designed.
That the Tidö parties want to see a compulsory language preschool for children who need it has been known for a long time. The investigation is now being added, which Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson (M) and Education Minister Lotta Edholm (L) will present at a press conference at lunchtime.
But before that, the Sweden Democrats’ school policy spokesperson Patrick Reslow talks about the directives for TT.
He points out that the preschool staff’s Swedish skills are also important.
– If we really want to invest in the children’s language development, it does not work for them to come to a preschool where the staff do not speak Swedish.
The Swedish National Agency for Education has benchmarks for how large children’s groups should be, but the statistics show that very many groups are larger than that. Therefore, stricter rules – law or regulation – may be needed.
This may be investigated by the investigation, as well as the staff density, that is, the number of children per employee.
