Sarnia police say two people were injured in a stabbing at a home on Vidal Street North Thursday evening after roommates who had returned from drinking at a downtown bar got in an argument.
It’s alleged a 50-year-old man and 27-year-old man returned to their residence shortly after 10 pm, along with a mutual friend. At that point, the roommates are said to have started an argument that escalated and it’s alleged the 27-year-old man was stabbed in the abdomen.
The mutual friend attempted to intervene and was injured, police said. Both victims were taken to hospital and later discharged.
It’s alleged a police officer who responded to the incident was struck in the face while making an arrest.
Anthony John Hendley, 50, has been charged with aggravated assault and assaulting police.
