“The right to demonstrate is a great asset in Utrecht, regardless of the content of the demonstration,” Mayor Sharon Dijksma writes in a letter to the city council. And: “We give the right to demonstrate ample scope and, partly thanks to a heavy police presence, everyone was able to make their opinion heard today without this leading to (serious) disorder.”
