Around sixty bodies found near Abeibara in the Kidal region

In Mali, around sixty bodies were found near Abeibara, in the Kidal region, near the border with Algeria. According to local sources contacted by RFI, these are almost exclusively civilians, killed by the Malian army and its auxiliaries from the Wagner group – now incorporated into the “African Corps” managed by the Russian authorities.

They were found in recent days, within a radius of about 40 km around Abeibaran in the northeast of Mali. In Aghli, Emadjlal, Hidjous, Akomas, Ouzen… Some grouped in mass graves, others scattered in the bush, isolated, tied up.

According to sources contacted by RFI – human rights association Kal Akal, members of the CSP rebellion, local notables – the Malian army and Wagner carried out a vast operation during the last two weeks of June. The victims are mainly Tuaregs from different factions: Ifoghas, Imghads or Daoussaks, inhabitants of the area or internally displaced persons who came for example from Talataye and who had fled the violence of the Islamic State or the army.
