Around 500,000 Israelis have been evacuated and forced to leave their homes in the ten days that have passed since the terror-labeled organization Hamas attacked Israel last weekend, said Jonathan Conricus, spokesman for the Israeli military (IDF).
All towns along the Gaza Strip and over 20 along Israel’s northern border with Lebanon have been evacuated, he says.
In the Gaza Strip, more than a million people have been displaced after Israel urged them to leave northern Gaza and head south. Some seek shelter in the street environment and others in UN school buildings. Much of Hamas’ military infrastructure has been hidden in urban settings.
