At least since Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy, Batman has once again become a popular hero in the cinema. Before that, the Dark Knight had been remembered in the 90s for his much less popular film adaptations. These include Batman Forever and Batman & Robin, the latter of which is the most popular film today. only usable as a ridiculous trash grenade is.
The Joel Schumacher film starred Arnold Schwarzenegger as the villain Mr. Freeze. Although the Terminator star hardly talks about the blockbuster anymore, he still hasn’t been able to part with his character’s costume.

Our international sister site AdoroCinema has discovered a Hollywood Reporter interview with film producer Peter Macgregor-Scott from 2015. In it, he revealed that Arnie Mr. Freeze costume from Batman & Robin so muchthat he secured ownership of it through a special deal with the responsible studio Warner Bros.:
The actors would like to take all kinds of things with them, and we have to be very careful that that is kept to an absolute minimum. Arnold Schwarzenegger wanted a Mr. Freeze costume. It went all the way up to the studio. He had to sign a contract, and I think he pays $1 a year to rent the costume.

George Clooney was ashamed of Batman & Robin for years
While Arnie secured a piece of the controversial Batman blockbuster, lead actor George Clooney would rather not think about it anymore. As a guest on the Graham Norton Show, he publicly apologized to comic fans again:
I always apologize for Batman & Robin. […] Let me put it this way, I really thought I had destroyed the franchiseuntil someone else brought it back years later in a completely different way. I thought at the time it was a really good career decision. Well, it wasn’t.
