Arne Hegerfors is dead.
The popular television profile fell asleep during the night, reports SVT.
He lived to be 81 years old.
Celebrated sports journalist and television commentator Arne Hegerfors is dead, according to SVT on Monday. For many, many years he was one of Sweden’s most loved television profiles.
Hegerfor’s death
Hegerfors started at SVT back in 1969 and quickly became a real viewer favorite in the cabins. For several decades, his voice became associated with many of Swedish sports’ greatest moments over the years.

Arne was awarded the Stora journalist prize in 1992 and won the honorary prize at the Kristallen television gala in 2008. After 29 years at SVT, the profile chose to move on to Canal+ and made numerous sports broadcasts during his professional career.
Arne’s tough years
In 2012, Hegerfors ended his television career and retired. Then followed a tough time when he suffered a stroke, heart attack and brain tumor for a short time.

During the end of 2023, Hegerfors was treated for three weeks for the covid virus and heart failure. During the night of Monday, Arne Hegerfors fell asleep, he was 81 years old.
