Wednesday evening offers one of the most talked about duels this year and it will be extremely exciting to see the outcome. Armand Duplantisthe world’s best pole vaulter by far, settles with Karsten Warholmthe world’s fastest 400-meter hurdler of all time, in a historic 100-meter race.
Believe in “Mondo”
The Diamond League tour has arrived in Zurich, Switzerland, but the day before the gala kicks off, Duplantis and Warholm will make the spectacular run at the Letzigrund Stadium. It will be a special competition organized by the sponsors of both superstars, to see which of them is the fastest.

Ahead of the prestigious event, American athletics site Citrusmag has asked everyone who they think will win the 100m race. Then as many as 54 percent have chosen “Mondo”, which has irritated the sprint icon Michael Johnson.
“54 percent are wrong,” the American said of the poll.

But Duplantis takes the legend’s harsh words with a broad smile.
– He would not be happy to see me win or even be the favorite!, says Mondo according to Expressen.
– I don’t think he is a big fan of the technical branches.
Johnson has previously criticized the jumping and throwing events for being too slow sports, and that he wants them removed from the major athletics events. The Swedish pole vaulting giant is only motivated by the criticism and is now sending back a clear mockery to the man who was once the world’s fastest.
– It would be a bad night for Michael Johnson if I win. A REALLY bad night. And that would be incredible. I would love if he had a bad night, says the 24-year-old.

Even Karsten Warholm has been annoyed that he is not seen as the favorite before the super duel.
– I am pissed off about it. It has come to me. But it’s nice to put the pressure on the Swedish side, Warholm admits according to the evening newspaper and also gives his honest opinion about Michael Johnson’s Duplantis criticism.
– No, but what’s funny is that everyone can have an opinion. I have seen many opinions, some on me and others on Mondo. And I appreciate all opinions, if it was one sided it wouldn’t be worth checking out. Even Michael Johnson probably finds this exciting.
