Armand Duplantis has had a completely successful season.
Now it shows at the top of the athletics world ranking.
Where “Mondo” tops the men’s list by far.
During 2022, Armand Duplantis have been largely unbeatable in the pole vault competitions. Only once has the Swedish world star been defeated and that was in the penultimate competition of the season, during the Diamond League gala in Brussels recently.
Mondo historical
Otherwise, it has been pure dominance by “Mondo”, who won WC gold indoors, WC gold outdoors, EC gold outdoors, overall victory in the Diamond League and broke three new world records. As well as becoming historic with the most jumps over 6 meters and thus passing the pole vault icon Sergey Bubka.
Now comes the next powerful listing for the Swedish 23-year-old, who once again tops the athletics world ranking on the men’s side. Duplantis has accumulated a whopping 1,601 points in 2022 and is actually superior among the world elite in athletics.
Best woman
Down to second place in the world ranking is as much as 68 points. Second on the leaderboard is Noah Lyles who beat Michael Johnson’s legendary 200m world record from 1996 when he won WC gold in 19.31 this summer.
On the women’s side, there is not nearly as much dominance when only 45 points separate the first five in the world ranking. At the very top we find the big star Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce who won WC gold in the 100 meters.
Both Duplantis and Fraser-Pryce have been in the limelight lately and have sent each other a number of chicks. Preparations are also being made for a historic duel between the world stars who will settle the 100 meters at some point in the future.
