Armand Duplantis sets a new world record at 6.20m pole vault


Swedish Armand Duplantis became world indoor pole vault champion in Belgrade on March 20, 2022, setting a new world record at 6.20m.

Already Olympic champion, European champion and vice-world champion (outdoors), Armand Duplantis is now also world champion indoors. The Swede won the final of the Championships in Belgrade, Serbia, on Sunday March 20. On this occasion, he improved his own world record by crossing a bar at 6.20m, one centimeter better than his jump made two weeks ago in the same room. Armand Duplantis achieved this feat on his third and last jump, after missing the first two. On the podium, he is ahead of the Brazilian Thiago Braz da Silva (5.95m and the American Chris Nilsen (5.90m).
