Armand Duplantis reveals the big moment of love – how he met his girlfriend Desiré: “I was super nervous”

Armand Duplantis is at the peak of his sports career.
And he has found love in the model Desiré Inglander.

It was last summer that Armand Duplantis found love in Desire Inglander. She is today a 21-year-old model with dreams of starting her own brand.

Mondo’s success

While “Mondo” is one of Sweden’s top athletes and is at the peak of his career right now. The 23-year-old has won everything there is to win already with 1 Olympic gold, 2 World Cup gold, 3 European Championship gold and a handful of world records in pole vaulting.

Nowadays you see pictures of Armand and Desiré all the time and the love flows with the young couple. The girlfriend follows most of the competitions around the world and has also acted as a coach for the world star.

“Oh my God”

The couple has also launched their own YouTube channel where followers get an insight into their different everyday life. There, the couple has also revealed how they met that summer in 2021.

Mondo reveals that it was he who took the initiative and the starting shot became possible, as for many young people these days, via social media.
– The first time I saw her was on Instagram. I then tried writing to her but nothing came of it. A few months later it was midsummer, I was at a party and a friend of mine came up and asked if I wanted to go to another party, says the pole vault star in the video.
– Then I found out that Desiré was going to be at this party, so I immediately thought: “Oh my God”. Of course I wanted to go to that party then because Desiré would be there. I wanted to meet her. So I went to that party and I knew she was going to be there.

Determined to get to know Desiré, Duplantis gathered the courage to take his chance.
– I went up to her and tried to talk to her. I remember being super nervous. I had prepared what I was going to say in my head, but what came out of my mouth didn’t sound nearly as good as I thought…, he says in the video on YouTube.
– So there wasn’t much of that time, but I got her Snapchat. After that I tried to set up a date with her but it never worked. Then I told her that I was going away for a long time in two weeks and finally she said yes. So we met and hung out for a few days and then it became us.
