Armand Duplanti’s play after missed record: “I get annoyed”

Armand Duplantis set no historical world record in Sweden.
The 25-year-old pole star failed with all three attempts at 6.28 meters when he won his own competition in Uppsala at 6.05.

Duplantis had the chance to become the first Swedish in just under 38 years to set a world record in athletics in Sweden. It has not happened since Patrik Sjöberg Jumped 2.42 in height at Stockholm Stadium in June 1987.

And even though there was no record this time, the super -jumper handed out a promise.
– Of course I wanted that world record here on Swedish soil, but it will. Not this time, but it will.

The Swedish-American relinquished several of the heights to save on the forces to hope and over six meters. Once the 25-year-old chose to jump, he took both 5.65 and 5.90 with a decimeter to the bar in the first attempt.

Lavillenie: “A little bitter”

Several, on the other hand, had problems at the first heights and tore out at 5.80. Including Lavillenie, the 38-year-old veteran, the Olympic gold medalist and the former world record holder, who tore out first.
– I’m a little bitter. I was expecting more, says the Frenchman.

“Mondo” and “Manolo”

“Mondo” and Greek Emmanouil “Manolo” Karais was the only one who managed six meters, but when the world record holder managed 6.05, Karais could not match.

Then Duplantis invested on the world record 6.28 which he thus failed to cope.
