The world’s best pole vaulter has proposed to love in New York.
– I have never been so nervous, “Mondo” admits.
Swedish world star Armand Duplantis met Desire Inglander for the first time in 2020. At a midsummer party they took a liking to each other and since 2021 they have lived together in Kungsholmen.

In recent years, she has been able to follow her boyfriend’s success story from a great talent to one of the world’s best pole vaulters of all time. “Mondo” has completely dominated the sport, piling up gold medals and world records.

Desiré has also more than often been there to support and cheer on Duplantis. Where a victory kiss after each won competition has been a given.
Proposal to Desiré
On Friday came the brand new news about the couple. Both revealed on Instagram that they are engaged. The proposal will take place in The Hamptons, outside New York, see the video below.
– I was more nervous than at the Olympics. I had prepared some words to say, but I couldn’t get anything out. I froze, Mondo admits after getting down on one knee.
– It took him like 20 seconds to find the ring, Desiré says with a laugh and continues:
– I am still in shock. I’m a real control person, it’s almost
impossible to surprise me.

Armand Duplantis had a super year in 2004 with both WC and Olympic gold and broke three world records. Now he has ended the year in the best way by putting a ring on Desiré’s finger.
