With that she is the fourth best in Sweden during this year and the goal is to reach 4.20 cm soon.
– Beating a personal record is always good for self -confidence, so it was good. I am so happy to get higher than I did before but I am ready for more, she says in an interview with the local newspaper UNT and she dreams of being able to represent Sweden at national team level.
– I would like to jump for Sweden. That’s my goal. It would be very cool.
Johanna’s difficult choice
22-year-old Johanna Duplantis is now facing a very tough decision for the future of sports career. She goes to her last year and after that she is completely without a training group in the United States.
– It will be difficult in the US, because where will she train? She can continue training at her college, but is without a real training group. It is not like in Sweden with club affiliations and so on. But she plays with the idea of continuing with the pole jump, says mom Helena Duplantis to Expressen.

Johanna has been tired of pole jumps for periods but continued to fight on. Now things are going better than ever and therefore a rescue can be to move to Sweden and continue the investment in Mondo’s new homeland.
– Right now she is very tagged and has “perseited” several times this season. She started the season with a “four -meter press” and after that has not jumped for four meters any competition. So her level is higher than ever. If she persists for a few centimeters … then she is up among the Swedish elite, says her mother and coach in the interview.
– She can come to Sweden. She has the chance to compete for Upsala IF and be more involved in competitions here. We’ll see what happens, but if she continues in the same way she has shown so far this year, then it can be fun.
Armand Duplantis is already competing for Upsala IF and has its own pole jump gala “Mondo Classics” in Uppsala. He recently won the World Cup gold indoors and has set eleven world records during his successful career.
