Armand Duplantis took a grand slam at the Sports Gala.
The world’s best pole vaulter received three different prizes.
Now he is being praised for his beautiful gesture right after the gala.
The world’s best pole vaulter Armand Duplantis has a really super year behind him. He won both WC gold indoors, EC gold outdoors and then the big highlight with Olympic gold in Paris and triple world records in 2024.
Duplanti’s reward
On Monday, “Mondo” was greatly praised at the Sports Gala when he received a total of three different awards. During the evening, he was presented with the Achievement Gold, Male Athlete of the Year and Performance of the Year.

The latter two awards also meant that Duplantis received two “Cheer Prizes” worth SEK 50,000 each. The main sponsor of the gala, Svenska Spel, therefore distributed 100,000 kroner to the Swedish world star, who was there with his girlfriend Desire Inglander.
Armand’s nice gesture
Now Armand Duplantis chooses to donate the entire amount to his club Upsala IF, where they will be much needed for the association’s youth activities.
– UIF is my association and I see that they do a great job with the club’s young people. I hope that this extra money can be used for some fun camp or competition for these young people, says Mondo in a press release.

Upsala IF is of course extremely grateful for the pole vault star’s beautiful gift.
– It is fantastic. We have decided that we will run a bet on the 11-14-year-old segment with a concept from the autumn, and this money fits perfectly into that thinking. Young people at a malleable age should get a good training base, which we believe can generate more talent, says Peter Johnsonboard member UIF, in a statement.
– During an evening like the Sports Gala when we pay tribute to some of our top athletes, it feels good that together we can also give back to youth sports. Resources are important so that sports can continue to enable both big and small dreams, says Mats Einarssonsponsorship manager at Svenska Spel.
