Armand Duplanti’s honest family message – refuses to do what dad Greg did to him: “He was quite…”

Armand Duplantis was a great talent even as a child.
But in the future, if Mondo has a child himself, he won’t take on Dad Greg’s traits.
– I love pole vaulting, but…, he says.

Armand Duplantis is the best pole vaulter of all time, and he has several world records to his name. The Swede is currently the world’s hottest track and field athlete, and it is no coincidence that he became so incredibly successful.

Honest family message

Already as a small child, Armand Duplantis started jumping in the garden in the United States, and it was all at the initiative of father Greg. Today, Greg is a trainer for Mondo, and even before he was born, the pole vaulting facility was in the garden, when Armand’s older brother also pole vaulted.

Armand Duplantis is a guest on this week’s episode of the Success Podcast with Alexander Pärleros, and then reveals that he dreams of forming his own family in the future.

– Yes, I want to have children and start a family, he says.

But Mondo won’t follow dad Greg’s move with a pole vaulting facility of his own in the garden.

– I probably won’t do it. Maybe, but I won’t build it before my kids are born, like he did.

Won’t do like dad

Armand Duplantis believes that father Greg probably had a well-thought-out plan about what he wanted his sons to do.

– He was quite strategic with it, I don’t know if he had a big plan behind it. Whether he wanted us to become pole vaulters or not… But he loves pole vaulting, he loves everything about it, says Mondo.

However, Mondo also sees possible things with pole vaulting that are not only positive.

– Pole vaulting is a beautiful sport and I love everything about it, but it is very complicated. The logistics around that and everything is complicated, it’s so hard to travel, to have good facilities. It’s so big and unwieldy. If I’m going to have my own facility, I need a big house. I have to be very good for many years to come if I want a house that big.
