Armand Duplantis has had an absolutely fantastic year.
Now he can win the Jerring Prize for the second time in his career.
After being snubbed at Bragdguldet by Daniel Ståhl.
2023 has been another incredible year for the world’s best pole vaulter Armand Duplantis. He followed up his incredible 2022 by reaching even greater heights and writing new sporting history.
Duplanti’s success
Already at the beginning of the year, “Mondo” struck with a new world record of 6.22 meters. Then he won another WC outdoor gold in the summer and in the very last competition of the season he crowned the season with another world record.

The mighty 6.23 jump was the perfect finish to 2023 and further proof of what a great athlete Duplantis is. But he still had to see himself snubbed at the prestigious Bragdguldet award by his national team colleague Daniel Ståhl.
About the Jerring Prize
The World Cup gold heroes are expected to have a new duel against each other in the fight for the Jerring Prize at the Sports Gala, a prize that Mondo won in 2020 for his Olympic gold. Armand Duplantis is now speaking out for the first time about his nomination for the People’s Prize.
– It’s big, it’s big. I think it is one of the biggest prizes you can get in Sweden. Because it’s the audience that votes, if you win it, you have the people’s love, so it actually means a little extra, he tells Radiosporten.

Duplantis is also looking forward to the coming year where the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris will be the real highlight.
– It feels like it will be more of a real Olympics than last time because of covid. There will be more audience and my family can be there. It’s an Olympic year and it’s huge, it’s the biggest thing you can have as an athlete, he admits to the radio channel.
