Now Armand Duplantis can laugh all the way to the bank after the successful competitions in China.
“Mondo’s” latest weekly salary breaks all records.
The new outdoor season has gotten off to a dream start for the big star Armand Duplantis. Last week he competed twice in China when Xiamen and Shanghai hosted Diamond League competitions.
Duplanti’s success
Then “Mondo” struck with the perfect start by setting a new world record of 6.24 meters during the premiere in Xiamen. The goal was to break a new world record also in Shanghai, but the 24-year-old did not succeed with two in a row.

He has still won both competitions by a landslide and is now getting a lot of bang for his buck.
– Yes, I’ve been walking like on a cloud for the past week. I always try to jump as high as I possibly can and I know that the form is good and that the technique fits, he said at a press conference about the time in China.
Mondo’s reward
The Chinese people have been crazy about the Swedish world star and after the successful week, Duplantis breaks the record for money earned with a breathtaking weekly salary. Just winning a Diamond League competition gives around 110,000 Swedish kronor and he managed to do that twice.

In addition, Mondo receives an “appearance fee” just to be on site, and then it is about millions of figures.
– I can only say that the Chinese pay well. But they have had a craving for him for several years, when they could not have any competitions, confirms his manager Daniel Wessfeldt for Aftonbladet.

The world record itself also gives a proper multi-million bonus, partly from his personal sponsors but also the Diamond League gives out around 550,000 kroner for each record.
