Armand Duplantis will jump again this evening during the Continental Tour competition in the Czech Ostrava. Recently, he chose to forgo the team EC and gives his own explanation to the Swedish national team snob.
– I only want to compete in competitions at the highest elite level that can help me in the preparations for the WC and that means that I am very careful about selecting competitions. I only compete where there are good conditions knowing that it will help me, he says in the interview.

Instead, the world’s best pole vaulter has chosen the Continental Tour in Ostrava on Tuesday evening and the goal is to jump over six meters again. The current arena record is a modest 5.93 and was beaten Sam Kendricks.
– I think this arena deserves a six-meter jump so that is my big goal for the competition, Duplantis says to the organizer’s official website.

Armand Duplantis has jumped at most 6.11 outdoors this year. Indoors, he set a new world record of 6.22 at the beginning of the year.
