Armand Duplantis can be named the world’s best male track and field athlete for a third time. The pole vaulter is one of five finalists in the International Association of Athletics Federations vote.
The other four finalists are the javelin thrower Neeraj ChopraIndia, the shot putter Ryan CrouserUSA, the marathon runner Kelvin KiptumKenya, and the sprinter Noah LylesUnited States.
Armand Duplantis24, was named the world’s best in both 2020 and 2022. This year he won WC gold and raised his world record to 6.23 meters.

On December 11, the winner will be presented in connection with the International Athletics Federation’s gala. Earlier this fall, the Swedish-American was snubbed for the title of European Track and Field Athlete of the Year on the men’s side by the Norwegian runner Jakob Ingebrigtsen.
