For the second year in a row, Duplantis also took home the overall victory in the Diamond League, and the record night in Eugene now brings a lot of bang for the buck for the Swedish big star. Just by winning a sub-competition in the Diamond League, you are guaranteed 10,000 dollars in prize money, around 112,000 Swedish kronor, and the overall victory provides significantly more in victory bonus.

Mondo’s money

The winner of the Diamond League is awarded a whopping $30,000, approximately SEK 335,000. Which means that Mondo earned around 450,000 kroner on Sunday night and then there is additional sponsorship income and advertising contracts for the world’s best pole vaulters.

When Duplantis broke the world record at the beginning of the year, he collected around 10 million kroner, according to consistent information. But recently the Swede’s agent revealed Daniel Wessfeldt that the world record bonus is paid annually and not per world record.
