Sweden has a lot to thank Armand Duplantis for.
But “Mondo” also wants to show his great gratitude back to his new homeland.
Now girlfriend Desiré Inglander reveals the pole vault star’s beautiful gesture to Sweden.
It has been an extremely successful year for Armand Duplantis which further cemented his position as the world’s best pole vaulter right now. In 2022, “Mondo” has won WC gold both indoors and outdoors, EC gold outdoors and the overall victory in the Diamond League.
Duplanti’s greatness
The Swedish world star has also broken a bunch of world records and can once again take the grand slam at the Sports Gala that awaits in January. The 23-year-old has already won gold in everything there is to win in pole vaulting and is well on his way to becoming one of the sport’s all-time greats.

Sweden owes so much to Duplantis for this incredible success and his decision to compete for Sweden instead of his home country USA at a young age. But Mondo also has great gratitude that he wants to show Sweden for being so warmly welcomed by his new home country.

The gesture to Sweden
It is in a long interview with Elle magazine that Duplantis and the girlfriend Desire Inglander do together as a very beautiful gesture is revealed. The couple first talks about their great interest in fashion.
– We both have jobs where we can walk around in training clothes all day if we want, especially Armand, so when we get the chance to dress up, we take it. And Armand is becoming more and more interested, says Desiré in the interview.
– When you wear something that you really like, and that you think fits well, it makes you confident. It’s always positive, I think. I like the minimalist Scandinavian style, admits Armand.

Then the girlfriend Desiré reveals that “Mondo” has actively decided to only buy clothes from Swedish companies, to support his new homeland and show his gratitude. A beautiful gesture from the USA-born and blue-yellow sporting hero.
– You never buy anything that is not Swedish, Desiré says to her boyfriend.
– Yes, I started with it about 1.5 years ago. I felt grateful for the position I am in and how welcoming all Swedes are. So I thought that when I get a chance, I want to support Swedish companies, says Duplantis in the interview.
