Belgium has been given a new unity government. Nearly eight months after the election last year, five parties have agreed on a common rule.
Bart de Wever, party leader for conservative Flemish separatist party NVA, has led the negotiations which, according to Le Soir, have been intense in recent days.
The cross -border cooperation also includes Flemish Social Democrats, French -speaking liberals and the Christian Democrats of the two regions.
Thus, the outer right of the outer right is held Vlaams, which became the second largest in the election, outside the government whose five parties have 82 of Parliament’s 150 chairs. Neither Prime Minister Alexander de Croo’s liberal party Open VLD is not included in the new coalition.
The new collaboration is called the Arizona coalition, since the colors of the parties are all included in the flag of the US: yellow, red, blue and orange.
The outgoing government – with liberals, social democrats, Christian Democrats and environmental parties – has in turn lived under the collective name Vivaldi, when their ideologies and party colors have been described as different as the four seasons.
