Ari Lahti, chairman of the Finnish Football Association, is seeking a place on the board of the European Football Association.

Lahti has been chairman of the Football Association since 2018. He has been a member of the UEFA Finance Committee since 2019.
Lahti wants to reach an influential task at the center of European football.
-I want to influence UEFA’s decision-making in accordance with the values of Finnish football and to the heart of European football with the best of Finnish society and the valuable doctrines I have learned in business and as a club leader, Lahti says in the Football Association release.
The UEFA Congress will elect new members to the Board of Directors on April 3 in Belgrade. Seven new members will be voted on the Board and there are 11 candidates.
Lahti is aiming for a historic place, because according to the Football Association only Toivo A. Ekholm (1962-1966) and Lauri Pöyhönen (1986-1988) have previously represented Finland in the position.
