  • Argument over refrigerator at Ikea

    There has been a fight over a refrigerator at Ikea in Älmhult, Småland.

    – What happens is that the plaintiff takes out the refrigerator and then suddenly a man comes and says that it is his refrigerator, explains police spokesperson Sara Andersson.

    The man who claims the refrigerator is his loads it onto a cart and leaves.

    – Plaintiff follows him until we are there, says Sara Andersson.

    The refrigerator is back in the plaintiff’s possession and a report of molestation has been drawn up.

    – If it was a misunderstanding or an attempted theft, we’ll see when the report is ready, says Sara Andersson.

  • Clear sign for Danish weapons on Russian soil

    Denmark’s government stands behind Ukraine’s entry into Russia, announced Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen.

    This means that they see no problem with Danish donated weapons being used in Russia.

    – You cannot reasonably win this war by only defending yourself and warding off what is being fired at you, says Løkke Rasmussen according to the Ritzau news agency.

    – Defending yourself can absolutely mean that you also enter the attacker’s territory, he continues.

    On Monday, Denmark announced its 20th aid package to Ukraine, with 800 new Danish million for, among other things, the purchase of military equipment.

    Several countries in the West have recently given Ukraine the green light to use donated weapons against Russian soil, including Finland and Great Britain.

  • Police chase suspect with helicopter after molestation

    Shortly after lunchtime on Monday, a woman alerted the police that she had been sexually assaulted.

    Now the suspected perpetrator is being searched with a police helicopter in Hägersten, in southern Stockholm.

    – We have received information that a man probably followed a woman and molested her, says Carina Skagerlind, police spokesperson.

  • 41-year-old arrested by Säpo in terror raid

    A wanted 41-year-old man has been arrested by Säpo in Stockholm on suspicion of terrorist offences, reports TV4 Nyheterna.

    The raid took place on behalf of “a foreign authority”.

    – The person is suspected of a terrorist crime in another country, says Fredrik Hultgren-Friberg, press secretary at the Security Police to the television channel.

    There is a stop in the train traffic between Stockholm and Gothenburg after an accident between Skövde and Töreboda, reports P4 Skaraborg.

    There is currently no forecast for when the trains will be able to run again.

  • Serious robbery in Katrineholm – masked man took purse

    In the company of another person, a woman entered the police station in Katrineholm just before ten o’clock on Monday morning.

    She had been hit in the head by a masked man who also took her purse, the police write on their website.

    The crime, which occurred near a cemetery, is being investigated as aggravated robbery.

    The police are searching with dogs and drones for the suspected perpetrator.

    A 25-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of a murder in Borlänge in May 2023, reports P4 The valleys. He has been detained in his absence since the end of June last year

    The man was arrested abroad and has now been taken to Sweden.

    It was in April last year that a man was shot to death while he was sitting in a car in the Hagalund residential area in Borlänge. Ten people have been investigated for involvement in the murder. Suspicions remain against six of them.

  • MC and motorhome in collision

    A motorcycle and a motor home have collided in Emmaboda, the police write on their website.

    The accident occurred on national highway 28/länsväg 1013 and there should be a traffic stop in all directions.

  • Fully developed fire in Lerum – suspected to be arson

    The emergency services have been alerted to a fully developed fire in an apartment building in Lerum.

    – There is a fire in two separate parts of the house. We have managed to put out one that originated in an apartment and are working on the other that is in the basement, says Bosse Florell, alarm and line operator at the rescue service.

    There is no forecast for how long the extinguishing work will last.

    The police suspect that the fire may be arson and have opened a preliminary investigation into arson.

    – We are on site and investigating the cause of the fire, says police spokesperson Jens Andersson.

    No one is arrested.

    An ambulance has also been dispatched to the apartment building, but there are no reports of injuries.

  • Sailboat capsized in Italy – seven missing

    A sailboat has capsized with 22 people on board off the coast of Palermo on the island of Sicily, reports say Il Fatto Quotidiano.

    The accident happened at 05:00 on Monday morning and was caused by a tornado.

    The coastguard has managed to rescue 15 people, including a one-year-old, but seven are still missing.

    According to the newspaper, there is information that the boat had a British flag and that most of the people were British on board.

    But there must also have been a New Zealander, a Sri Lankan, a Frenchman and an Irishman on the sailboat.

  • Mackmyra Whiskey files for bankruptcy

    Mackmyra Swedish Whiskey is filing for bankruptcy, the whiskey company announced in a press release.

    The reason is that they have not managed to secure sufficient funds to continue operating the business in the short term. According to the press release, however, there is great value in the company in the longer term.

    The bankruptcy application will be filed at Gävle District Court on Monday.

    A man in his 30s has been taken to hospital after a fire in an apartment building in Finspång. According to local media, he has life-threatening injuries.

    The emergency services were alerted at half past three on Monday night. There was then a heavy fire in an apartment on the third floor, but the fire was quickly extinguished and there was deemed to be no risk of spreading to other parts of the house.

  • Double traffic accidents on the E6 in Gothenburg

    On Monday morning, a truck collided with a car on the E6 in Gothenburg, at the height of Kållered, writes GP.

    The collision must have occurred in the northbound direction.

    Just minutes later there was another accident on the E6 in Lindome, northbound.

    During the morning, there was also an accident at Hisingen, where four vehicles were involved in an accident on road 155.
