For Supernatural fans, there’s probably no hope left. After the news that the latest offshoot The Winchesters was canceled after season 1, the fantasy spin-off failed to save itself. Supernatural star Jensen Ackles spoke up again personally, to a certain extent Farewell to the fantasy universe to herald

After cancellation, the entire Supernatural universe is on the brink

As Deadline reports, several attempts to find a new home for the Supernatural spin-off have been unsuccessful. Despite the active rescue campaign #SaveTheWinchesters and the hope that streaming providers such as Netflix or Amazon Prime could take over and extend the canceled series, it will no 2nd season The Winchesters give.

This also has to do with the fact that due to the current Hollywood strike, no large series orders or similar campaigns should be carried out.

On Twitter, Ackles posted another statement about the Supernatural situation, thanking fans and practically saying goodbye to the fantasy franchise:

In addition to the main series, there was a total of four planned or produced Supernatural spin-offsall of which have now failed.

It remains to be seen whether The Winchesters will still be rescued by surprise. But it doesn’t look like it at the moment.
