Argentine President Javier Milei will come to Denmark on Sunday, the government in Buenos Aires announced. The other week it was announced that Argentina will buy Danish fighter planes.

On Monday, the relatively newly appointed president will meet Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen in Copenhagen, according to a spokesperson.

The visit takes place shortly after Argentina announced at the end of March that the country is buying 24 fighter jets of the American F-16 type from Denmark. The US has approved the sale.

Argentinian media write that Milei underwent a medical examination to be able to participate in a test flight of the plane during the visit to Denmark.

Since Javier Milei came to power in December, he has made several radical attempts to save the South American country’s economy, long plagued by high government debt, inflation and budget deficits.

Milei has also introduced a series of controversial and controversial measures, including the shutdown of the state news agency Télam.
