At the end of the presidential election poll in Argentina this Sunday evening, the ultraliberal candidate Javier Milei was elected President of the Republic with 55.95% of the votes, according to the first official partial results. His Peronist rival Sergio Massa, the current Minister of the Economy, conceded defeat with 44.04% of the votes. The result between the two candidates, however, looked close, while the country is plunged into a serious economic crisis.
