Areti and GME present the RomeFlex project

(Finance) – Presented on pilot project “RomeFlex” for the supply of ancillary services on the Flexibility Market (MLF), consisting of GME and approved by ARERA. The project was presented today during a workshop attended by Areti’s CEO, Giulio Antonio Caronethe CEO of GME, Pietro Maria Putti and for ARERA Andrea GallianiDirector of the Energy Markets Department

“RomeFlex”, thanks to his advanced technological architecture and open market procedures, allows all customerswhose low or medium voltage systems are connected to the distribution network, of modular their own consumption and your own production of energy offering flexibility services to the Rome electricity grid. To the client an economic equivalent will be recognized based on the service provided through transparent and inclusive market logic.

The purpose is to gExtinguish the electricity grid efficiently and safely and thus allow the creation of a complete, evolved and inclusive local flexibility market serving all users in the city of Rome managed by Areti, a company ACEA Group which deals with the distribution of electricity in the capital.

The project also aims to contribute to the energy transition process underway, which will lead to a transformation of the electricity sector, increasingly characterized by generation from renewable and distributed sources on the territory, as well as by the progressive growth of consumption related to electric mobility et al summer/winter conditioning achieved via heat pumps.

Areti is the first Italian distributor (DSO) to start a local flexibility market project managed by GME, which is structured to allow the entry of other DSOs in addition to Areti.
