(Finance) – ARERA strengthens its international presence also in European water regulation. The General Assembly of WAREG, the Association of European Water Regulators made the election of the board official today in Brussels and with it the new position of permanent vice-presidency of ARERA, which will Andrea Guerrini, member of the Board of the Italian Authority.
“I am honored to represent ARERA and Italy in such a significant role within WAREG – he declared Guerrini –. This appointment is the result of the work that, as an Authority, we have carried out in recent years to strengthen the regulation of the water sector and to contribute to the transition towards increasingly fair and sustainable management models”.
The appointment of a permanent vice-president – underlines the Authority in a note – reflects WAREG’s commitment to a more solid and stable governance, in line with the strategic objectives of the Association. Thanks to this new position, ARERA will have the opportunity to continue to influence European policies and actively contribute to building a sustainable water future for all.
Finally, tomorrow 11 December, in the presence of institutions, business associations and stakeholders, the workshop “Climate neutrality in the water sector”, with the intervention of Antonio Decaro, president of ENVI, the Committee on the Environment, Public Health and Food Safety of the European Parliament.
