Apple is updating devices that are ten years old! The iPhone 5s (2013), iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus (2014) can now receive an update to iOS 12.5.7. An original approach, but which should be saluted salute for devices displaying up to ten years of good and loyal service on the meter… and which still work. iOS 12.5.7: other devices affected by the security breach

The iPhone 5s, iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 plus are not the only old devices susceptible to this security flaw which affects versions of the system prior to iOS 15.1. Apple also offers to update iPad Air, iPad mini 2, iPad mini 3 and iPod Touch (6^th generation). Note that last December, more recent versions of iOS had also been corrected to fill this same security flaw. iOS 15.7.2 has been rolled out to iPhone 6s, iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus, iPhone SE (first generation), iPad Pro, iPad Air 2, iPad 5^e generation, iPad mini 4 and iPod Touch 7^e generation. iOS 16, the latest major version of Apple’s mobile OS present on the most recent devices (from iPhone SE (second generation) and iPhone 8 and up to iPhone 14 Pro Max, was also corrected last December for this problem, the last update available being 16.3, which has been available since January 23, 2023.
