Another solution: 750 euros if you use your neighbor to clean
IJsselstein hopes to shorten or even eliminate waiting lists for domestic help. In addition to the recently introduced income test, a pilot is therefore also underway. For people who are entitled to help but arrange it themselves, IJsselstein pulls out the wallet. They can receive 750 euros per year to pay a cleaner or buy a robot vacuum cleaner, for example.
Care alderman Mark Foekema explains: “We want to help people to continue to receive informal help. Perhaps that is someone who has been coming to people’s homes for years and has become a kind of friend. With those 750 euros, they can pay for the help themselves. This also helps to use the capacity of the care providers for people who do not yet have their own help.”
